30/12/2021 Departure from Madrid

Finally, we reached the end of the bizarre trip. We had a good sleep and departed from the airport by noon.

Farewell, Madrid!

During the whole trip, we recorded a total of 110 species of birds. Surprisingly, since I just started birding in the Western Palearctic, I got 30 lifers on this trip. I would happily take another visit in a different season. Overall, I learned a lot about birds and nature, as well as the culture and history of Catalonia and Spain. It is a pity that there is still uncontrolled hunting in this country, but it is also good to see that people are making so much effort into conservation and education. I hope in Spain, people and nature can coexist in harmony.
